Safe Terrier Racing Backstop (Patent Pending) $385

The backstop presents a 4 foot tall barracade to racing dogs, even though only the bottom 2 feet is actually a “solid” closed-cell polyethylene foam barracade. The top 2 feet are just a fabric shield that is attached to the top framework. But, the dogs see this as a solid, 4 foot high wall when they are racing.
It is intended to break down into 2 parts, to make it easier to transport and store, each part about 2 ft. x 8 ft.: The bottom foam barracade and The top pipe frame.
Holes in the foam backstop accept pipes from the pipe frame when it is assembled, and the stretched fabric actually keeps the pipes in place in the foam.
Since the hole gets the most wear during use, it can be removed and easily replaced when it wears out, eliminating the need to replace the entire backstop.
A very hard hit from multiple, big dogs might offset the bottom pipes from the racetrack side to the catchpen side of the support posts. Remember, it is intended to do this in order to absorb a lot of force, and break-away safely. Just remove the rope ties on both ends, lift the backstop and swing it back into place on the correct side of the support post, and tie it back on. During testing we have had dogs as big as 60 pounds go through the hole at speed!
